Anti-trust Law

he Anti-trust Law was enacted to allow the free and fair economic activity of companies.

In recent years, it was amended and it will be further amended in the future. It is currently one of the hottest legal fields in Japan.

It covers not only monopolies, unjustifiable limitation of competition, and unfair trade, but also M&A and it is important for a company to know this law when it considers M&A.

The Japan Fair Trade Commission can investigate and impose sanctions for anti-trust activities by companies, and it is possible that such cases will end in criminal and civil lawsuits. Since this area is very complicated, it is necessary for a company to seek legal advice to respond lawfully when it negotiates with the authorities and other interested parties.
